Former School Bus Driver Convicted On Child Porn Charges
(Fairfax Co., VA) – A Fairfax County jury has convicted a former school bus driver on eight counts of possessing child pornography and has recommended 180-days in jail. Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney Jonathan Phillips says Derrick Herndon was arrested last fall after detectives traced downloads of child pornography to a computer in his home. Smith drove school bus routes in the Reston area, but according to the “Washington Post,” none of his crimes involved local students. Sentencing is set for May 18th.
