Closing out another eventful month, despite the continued losses, the Washington Wizards still made a lot of accomplishments and I’m highlighting a few of the positives that happened in December!

Congradulations to Wizards’ Forward/Center Alex Sarr who was named the Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month for games played in December!

Celebrity Sightings

There were a couple of familiar faces who made their way to Capital One Arena in December! DC family from the Washington Mystics; Aaliyah Edwards, Shakira Austin, Brittney Sykes and alum Monique Currie plus gold medalists; Jessica Long and Torri Huske all attended games last month!

Player Accomplishments

 Jordan Poole made a major milestone by achieving 6,000 career points and received performance of the game on December 19, 2024 against the Hornets with 27 points, 5 3PM, 4 Assists and 4 Steals/Blocks. Also as mentioned above, Alex Sarr was named December’s Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month.

Community Highlights

December began with Carlton “Bub” Carrington making a trip up 95 to Baltimore for a journey back to where his love for hoops began. Watch this episode of ULTRA Access in the video below.

On December 10th, Wizard players and coaching staff spent the day with Medstar Health visiting patients and staff. Plus a few other members of the team and staff stop by Alfred Kiger Savoy ES to surprise the children with holiday gifts.

Continuing the holiday cheer, Bilal Coulibaly hosted his Holiday Bonanza at Martha’s Table for families to celebrate!

Holiday Fun

Keeping the holiday spirit going, the team made a special holiday visit to The White House and got to see the Commanders close out the year clinching their NFL playoffs spot!

There was also a lot of laughs as the team had lots of fun with these activities to celebrate Christmas and the New Year!

The Wizards ended December with 3 wins out of 12 games so we’re definitely hoping for more winning games in January but we know the team will bring it on and off the court! Make sure to check back with us for more highlights this season!
