Will Smith Reacts To James Avery’s Death

Will Smith took to his Facebook account Sunday to express his condolences for the loss of “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” co-star James Avery.
Smith, who just celebrated his 16 year wedding anniversary, sites Avery as a teacher and friend in his life and went onto call the actor someone every young man needs.
James Avery played Smith’s uncle in the hit series that spanned six years. During the show, Avery’s character, Uncle Phil, oftentimes kept Will and Carlton out of trouble. While there were memorable episodes throughout the show, the passing of Avery resurfaced the emotional episode between Will and Uncle Phil, when Will asked why his absentee father didn’t love him.
No word on when or where the funeral services will take place.
R.I.P Uncle Phil
