Nas Set To Bring Hip Hop To Kennedy Center For Performing Arts

Nas is bringing Hip Hop to the Kennedy Center! Earlier this week, the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts announced its 2013-2014 season which includes a weeklong festival “One Mic: Hip-Hop Culture Worldwide.” The 2014 hip-hop festival will feature Nas performing music from his classic album “Illmatic” with musicians from the National Symphony Orchestra. The festival will also feature Puerto Rican musicians Calle 13 and a graffiti exhibition.

Kennedy Center President Michael Kaiser said,

“Hip-hop is clearly something new and different for us.” I think to do something very current is important. We’re trying to speak to many different audiences.” 

 “One Mic: Hip-Hop Culture Worldwide” will take place March 28 to April 7, 2014. Dope!
